Olympic Gold For GlaxoSmithKline

Demonstrators protesting GlaxoSmithKline's policies regarding generic AIDS drugs in Bangkok, 2004

Here goes the 1st London Olympic gold for corruption to the British pharma GlaxoSmithCline which pleaded guilty to a massive health care fraud in US and agreed to pay a record $3 Billion fine.On 2nd July, 2012 US Justice Dept reported that the criminal charges against Glaxo that made it to pay in billions involved the distribution of  unlicensed drugs. The suggestion was that the company did it by bribing the doctors who again are among the highest earners.

BBC is far too busy to show of the security build up around the London Olympic more than to report extensively on home brewed colossus corruption!Voice Of America wouldn't want to embarrass their partner in the Olympic time As much as the ''Transparency Intl''  keeping a blind eye to the huge level of private and corporate corruption. Here in the 3rd world one needs ever more stronger elected public reps to outwit the agenda of 'Transparency Intl''!

The Olympic fund and overall British economy is now surely down by $3billion!A lot of other cases of fraud involving vaccination is going on against Glaxo and other giant pharma's in different part of the world. To make the ledger balance profitable there would be a lot of illegal drug dumping in the 3rd world. One should watch out each and every so called overseas British development sponsorship.Behind the curtain of these sponsorships the £million dumping of illegal drugs would take place with the help of corrupt local doctors and marketing agencies! Also to look for is the activities of British charity Oxfam in the current flood season in Bangladesh type countries!

On 27 March 2007, GSK pleaded guilty in an Auckland District Court to 15 charges relating to misleading conduct related to the popular blackcurrant fruit drink Ribena, which the company had led consumers to believe contained high levels of vitamin C. As part of a school science project, Anna Devathasan and Jenny Suo, 14-year-old schoolgirls from Pakuranga College in Auckland, discovered that ready-to-drink juice sold in 100ml containers contained very little vitamin C. Approaches by the two teens to the company did not resolve the issue! When the news was publicised on national consumer affairs television show it came to the attention of the Commerce Commission. The commission's testing found that ready-to-drink Ribena contained no detectable vitamin C.The company was fined $217,000 for the 15 charges.

Another obvious item to balance this type of agreed payment of fines is investing in the arms industry. One need wars to feed this industry and British diplomacy is quite sophisticated in brewing both small and large scale wars mainly in Africa. The same investors of GlaxoSmithClines are there in the arms industry only to share the profit with the likes of Maggy Thatchers son!Again this shadowy arms deals are covered by the ''National Security Interest''.

Bribing of the generals is another taboo area of the ''Transparency Intl'!One should remember the John Le Carre novel ''The Constant Gardener'' and see how far the western governments go hand in hand with the pharmaceutical industry.
